Version 1.0 (2026-09)
This page explains the rights you have over your personal information under POPIA and how to exercise them in Connect Direct Hub.
Access: ask what personal information we hold about you and who it has been shared with.
Correction: ask us to correct or complete information that is wrong or outdated.
Deletion: ask us to delete or destroy information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest, and object to direct marketing at any time.
Withdraw consent: withdraw an optional consent without affecting processing that already lawfully took place.
Complain: lodge a complaint with us or with the Information Regulator.
Use the Privacy & data request form in the app, or write to the Information Officer. We verify your identity before acting on a request so that nobody else can obtain your information.
We aim to acknowledge a request promptly and to complete it within a reasonable period, normally 30 days.
You may request deletion of your account at any time using the Account deletion request form.
Deletion removes your profile, your messages and the records tied only to your account. Records we must keep by law — such as invoices, payment records and tax records — are retained for the period the law requires and are then destroyed.
Where a record relates to another party as well, for example a tenancy shared with a landlord, that party's copy of the shared record may lawfully remain for the duration of the tenancy and any legal retention period.
If you are unhappy with how a request was handled, use the Complaints form so we can escalate it internally.
Information Regulator (South Africa) — complaints may be lodged with the Regulator using its published contact details.
